Hi! I’m Lavanya, and I’m a qualified psychologist and dance/movement therapist based out of Hyderabad. I have three years of experience in working with adolescents and adults, presenting concerns of anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, stress management, body image, self esteem issues, relationship issues, and processing past trauma and childhood experiences.



My Story
I decided to become a therapist when I was, myself, going through a difficult phase. I sought help from a counsellor and it was life-changing for me. I found that having the space to openly talk about myself and not be judged for it, was powerful. Fast forward to today and here I am, extending the same kind of help to others. In the last three years of my experience, I have heard countless stories of resilience, strength and hope from my clients, which motivate me to continue my work as a therapist.
My Approaches

Eclectic approach
Eclectic means that I draw from different schools of thought in therapy and work with the client to tailor sessions that are best suited for them.

Emotion-focussed work
I also help the client in building awareness and understanding of emotions, becoming “friends” with them, and processing them in a relatively healthier way.

Trauma-informed lens
I try to make sense of the client’s difficult past experiences and look at how they impact the client in the present in a compassionate and non-judgemental space.

Body-based techniques
Based on the client’s comfort, I make use of tools and techniques that essentially allow clients to connect with their bodies and express what cannot be done verbally.
